About Us

Saraswati Library started originally in the year 1986 and upgraded to the level of university library in the year 2002, under S-VYASA a Yoga deemed to be University. Saraswathi Central Library is one of the part of the university in Jigani, Bengaluru. It spreads in an area 5453.18 Sq.ft. The library is centrally located in the Prashanti Kuteera campus. The collections include more than 28000, books, journals, magazine, CD’s, thesis, dissertation, reports, and back volumes. The collection of books includes documents covering a wide range of subjects from Yoga, Spirituality, Medicine/medical, Ayurveda, Physiotherpy, Para psychology, fictions, history, Ramayana,
Mahabharata, Upanishad, religious Books such as Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, and languages Sanskrit, Hindi and other south Indian languages like Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and foreign Languages etc. The library is automated and spacious, ventilated reading hall and reference, and more than 100 people can use at any time of library hours. The library is automated with integrated library management software, Koha (23.11 Version) and Dspace (8.1 Version) Institutional Digital Repository. The various housekeeping activities of the library such as data entry, cataloguing, issue and return and renewal of books, member’s logins etc. are done through the LMS. The reading and reference section are provided. The books are classified according to division wise and mainly used local shelf location system for books/documents. OPAC (Online public access catalogue) service is also provided where the users can search the collection of books by keywords, title, author, ISBN and etc. The books are being bar coded. User orientation is providing at the beginning of the year regarding the various facilities and resources available in the library. The library provides reprographic services, SDI, internet service, Wi-Fi facility & current awareness service.
